are even more examples of successes and "thank you" messages
we've received from pharmaceutical reps who credit us with
their success. These are actual e-mail messages from people
who have used our book, e-mail help line, or both to secure
a pharmaceutical sales representative position. They have

our customers.
"I'm
finally in!! Good grief, I feel like I've been initiated into
a Fraternity! There's one word for it...excruciating!! I will
be working for [pharmaceutical company] selling [drug]. Training
is next week for two weeks. The manager and I finally just
clicked.
It was
my resume that got me in. I re-did it 50 times. When I couldn't
sleep one night, I got up and edited it again. I started getting
feedback immediately. I asked my husband to review it one
more time and took his advice on the final changes. Boom...three
offers in one week. Gack. I took the one where the manager
was the nicest and less micro-managing. The money wasn't as
important as the manager and the opportunity. I think this
will be an excellent marriage.
Thank
you for all your advice and support."
"May
I just say that I LOVE your company. After weeks of blindly
sending resumes, convinced that buying your book on-line was
a huge scam, I caved in and rush ordered it.
I was
most impressed by your networking and foot-in-door strategies
that really motivated me to get out and make my job search
proactive. Hospital pharmacists I visited were extremely helpful,
and I found several drug reps through networking, all of whom
forwarded my resume on to their District Managers. I memorized
every possible interview question, prepared solid, specific
examples of behavioral interview experiences, and maximized
all of the information your BOOK I LOVE provided.
Three
weeks later I had received FOUR pharmaceutical sales offers
with TOP companies. I just accepted my #1 choice and later
that day received MORE calls from pharmaceutical companies.
My advice
to ANYONE out there interested in this field to BUY THIS BOOK
and land yourself an amazing offer ASAP!! I ACED all of my
interviews and knew the jobs would be mine.
The advice
on resume formatting, networking and interviewing skills was
invaluable. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Thank you, thank you, thank
you!!"
"Thank you
for your prompt response to my question last month. I have since
received your book and it has been great! I am finding out what
I've been doing right, but especially what I've been doing wrong.
I have completely reworked my resume to make it more functional
for the pharmaceutical industry. And I am starting to make my
contacts, among other things.
I found
several books on the Internet, but you were the only one that
had an e-mail service--which demonstrated a real concern for
your customers. Thanks again."
"I
just wanted to say thank you. Your book totally prepared me
for getting a job in phamaceutical sales. The question and
answer section is invaluable and the networking ideas set
me on the right course. I was offered the first position I
interviewed for and was so confident I turned it down! The
next job I interviewed with was a great position and I got
the job with a top European company. The money I spent on
your book was the best money I ever spent."
"Thank
you again for responding to my questions so fast. Thought
I would tell you that I spoke to my local pharmacist today.
Told him what I wanted to do and, lo and behold, he gave me
15 great names of pharmaceutical reps in our area. One in
particular he suggested I call and mention his name (as a
referral)."
"Thank
you again for all of your help. Though I have no previous
sales experience and am a recent college graduate, through
determination and networking I have secured a position in
pharmaceutical sales. I received an offer from [pharmaceutical
company] this morning and will leave for my first phase of
company training in a week.
Thank
you for your assistance via e-mail and for providing such
a wonderful guide which gave me the edge I needed to compete
in this industry."
"Thank you
so much for your book. It helped me tremendously. So much so
that I received an offer last week. The interview process was
so much fun. Yes, fun! I dazzled them with my knowledge of the
industry, their company and the position. I walked out of there
feeling like a million bucks, knowing that I would get the job.
I received the call later that night. Hired in one day. I wish
I had purchased the book 8 months ago."
"Before I received
your book, I had three interviews with no success. Just as
your book arrived I was contacted for another interview. I
studied your book during a phone interview and was one of
12 chosen for a sit-down interview. They told me it would
take two weeks to hear something. I was contacted the next
day telling me I was hired! If it was not for your book, I
know my interview would not have been that strong. I memorized
the answers to your sample questions, revised my resume the
way you explained and followed all the tips. I can't thank
you enough for what this book has done, not only for my career,
but also the direction my life will now be taking. It was
the best $40 I ever spent!"
"I
just got home from my interview with [pharmaceutical company].
Every question I was asked was in your book! I was so prepared
for this interview. Thanks again for writing a great book."
I
interviewed with [pharmaceutical company]. I asked for the position
twice at the end of the interview. I typed him a thank you letter
and stated my strengths (aligning them with his needs) and closed
him again in the letter. I faxed the thank you note to his home
office (with his approval). I followed up with a phone call
to his voice mail and asked for the second interview. He called
me yesterday to set up a second interview! Yippee!"
"I was very, very pleased and excited when
I opened my e-mail this morning and you had replied to my question.
I thought I'd receive a response saying, "Buy the book." However,
that was certainly NOT the case. Thank you very much for the
tips--I will now be sending a "priority shipping" request for
your publication."
"I finally
landed a job as a drug rep! I am so happy. Thank you for your
positive feedback, your support, and mostly for the book. I
feel it was the wisest investment I ever made. It made all the
difference in the world."
"I
just want to say Thank You for all your help. I purchased your
book and have found it to be very helpful. I think you stress
the important things needed in a pharmaceutical sales representative...
I was offered a position with a contract sales organization...
You have helped me very much and have made a significant contribution
to my life."
"I was looking
for an entry-level position in pharmaceutical sales for about
three months. After two months, I purchased your book and recently
received two offers from good companies."
"Thank you for your
prompt response to my inquiry about pharmaceutical sales careers.
I will purchase the book, which you recommended. Thanks for
the encouragement and have a great Holiday Season."
"Thank you so much
for your help. Only three weeks after receiving your book, I
have obtained employment. During several interviews, almost
every question from your book was presented to me. I was totally
prepared. Your advice via e-mail and your book have been invaluable
to me. Thanks again for all you help."
"I just recently received your booklet, Insight, and think it is fantastic!
I am thinking about making a career change to pharmaceutical
sales and have found it to be very helpful. I do have a couple
of questions that I hope you can answer….
Thank you so much! Once again, great job
on the book and I hope to hear from you soon!" "I wanted to
write and give you a very positive update on my job search.
Over the last two months, I have interviewed with six pharmaceutical
companies. I have had the great benefit of a rapidly growing
industry—it seems as though everyone is expanding their sales
forces! Anyway, I received four great offers from the last
four companies mentioned above. I accepted the position with
(pharmaceutical company) and will begin their training program.
I wanted to let you know that I found
your book to be very helpful throughout my search. It was
especially helpful in the beginning when I needed a little
bit more inspiration, motivation, and information to seek
this career. In my opinion, the best section of the book is
the one with questions to prepare for the interview. In most
of my interviews, the common theme of questions was "Give
me an example when….you encountered resistance, you had to
tell a customer ‘No’, you had to make a difficult decision,
you had to learn something on your own." The key to success
on these questions is to give a SPECIFIC example, explain
the problem, and tell how you worked around it and, most importantly,
the benefit to you, the customer, or your company. They really
like hearing about turning a negative situation into a positive,
all of which were covered in your book.
Thanks for all your help. I am so glad
that I found this book on the Web!"
"I just wanted to thank you for all of your interviewing advice.
I know that I did pretty well on my screening interview because
the interviewer all but guaranteed me that I would get a face-to-face
interview in about a week. So I will be studying this chapter,
and the entire book, very closely.
Ironically, later the same day, I received
another call from yet another pharmaceutical company. Now I
know it is only a matter of time before I will be hired. In
the meantime, I look forward to receiving your book to better
prepare myself in this quest!"
"I am always a little leery about ordering things off the Net;
however, I was pleasantly surprised this time. What an easy-to-read,
comprehensive, and insightful piece of work you have put together.
I am almost finished reading it for the first time and know
it will be an invaluable asset in my search for a job in the
pharmaceutical sales field. Thank you!"
"In response to your question…there were not any questions that
I had not prepared for. I could answer most of the questions
in my sleep I had practiced so much. I have to admit, it is
hard work (a full time job!!!). The book I purchased from you
was one of the best investments I’ve made in my job search.
It provided me with a solid approach and gave me some invaluable
advice. I appreciate it."
"Hello. I just wanted to say thank you for getting back to me
so promptly. That really means a lot! Also, I had already intended
on purchasing the book, so thanks for all the extra info. I’m
sure you will be hearing more from me in the future as I fill
out the book!"
"Thank you so much for sending Insight to me rush delivery
two weeks ago. It was incredibly considerate of you to trust
me when I said I needed it in a hurry. I did finish my resume
and actually had my first interview with (pharmaceutical company)
this week. It was the first interview, but I think I did a good
job. I am hoping to receive a call within the next two days
as I was told I could anticipate.
The interview questions you listed were
perfect—they really helped me prepare and I was asked questions
such as, "Why are you interested in pharmaceutical sales and
why do you think you can do a good job?" and "Tell me what
you would anticipate a typical day to look like?" Your book
is incredibly helpful and I am incredibly grateful. Whether
or not this turns out to be the match for me, I will continue
to use your book as my "bible" so to speak.
I hope to be in touch with you again as I
continue my search. You have been truly wonderful. I can’t thank
you enough."
"I received your guide and appreciated how fast it came. Thank
you. I have read through it once and am now swamped with all
the new info. The book not only provides excellent information
itself but also gives great leads to find more info, i.e., Web
sites, library, etc.
I will no doubt have many questions for
you in the near future but right now I have enough to go on
that I should be busy for some time. I have, in fact, made
contact with a rep for (pharmaceutical company) who is going
to give my resume to her manager and others who may be interested
in me. Thus the networking is already paying off to some degree.
Thank you for your e-mail and the great
book. I’ll be in touch."
