Below are the only educational or certificate programs that Anne Clayton recommends. Though one surely does not need to attend these specific universities to enter pharmaceutical sales, their curriculum is outstanding and can help guide you in your educational needs:

Certified Medical Representatives Institute(CMRI) - The most recognized certification in the pharmaceutical industry is the Certified Medical Representative Program. This type of certification is obtained only after you are already employed in the industry. This is a demanding curriculum that can take two or more years to complete. Many companies will recommend it for their high-performing Representatives and pay full tuition for it. NOTE: Anne Clayton recommends avoiding all "so called" certification programs before employment. Such programs are costly, are not widely recognized by most pharmaceutical companies and hiring District Managers, and provide little additional information that is useful to your job search.
